Why Akamai
The EU Data Act (EU Regulation 2023/2854 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 13 December 2023) introduces, among other requirements, rules to facilitate switching between data processing service providers and to remove obstacles that may prevent customers from changing providers.
To support this we have introduced the Akamai EU Data Act Addendum (the “Addendum”) which is effective as of September 12, 2025. This Addendum supplements Customer’s applicable Terms & Conditions solely with respect to the EU Data Act’s requirements on switching between Data Processing Services and to the extent Customer is subject to the EU Data Act. If there is any conflict between this Addendum and the Terms & Conditions, this Addendum will control only to the extent necessary to comply with the EU Data Act.
